Is John Timmel one of North Carolina's most underrated players?  FM Ron Simpson's slugfest with his fellow Carolina Cobra produced a messy but drawn rook and pawn ending, resulting in a tie for first place honors this month at 2.5 points each.  Congratulations Gentlemen!!

Are there two nicer guys in North Carolina Chess?  Nope!
